Midland Management and Casting was founded in September 2016 by Rachel Chandler and Walter Pearce.
Chandler had been working as a photographer for several years and her work had a unique approach to casting. Designers in her social circle began asking her to help them with casting for fashion shows and campaigns.
She worked closely with Hood by Air in 2014 and 2015 where she met Walter Pearce. Pearce was just out of high school and working as an intern, doing street casting for the brand.
As interest from brands quickly increased Chandler felt overwhelmed at the idea of starting a new career but understood the great potential. She asked Pearce to join forces and the agency was born.
Midland have a unique approach to casting, finding beauty where others may not and creating opportunities for people they feel need more representation in the media.
Midland Casting has worked with brands such as Gucci, Miu Miu, Marni, Comme Des Garcons, Fenty, Jason Wu, Proenza Schouler, Eckhaus Latta, Maryam Nassir Zadeh, Gap, Adidas, Nordstrom, Telfar and Vaquera as well as publications including T Magazine, M Le Monde, Dazed and Confused, and many others. Midland has been featured in The New Yorker, W Magazine, Vice and profiled by SYSTEM.
Midland Management represents over 20 New York based full and part time models representing a wide range of talent.
